Danila received her undergraduate degree in speech-language pathology and audiology from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1972, and earned her Master of Arts degree in speech-language pathology at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa in 1974. Upon earning her degree, she worked in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa schools with hearing-impaired students. From 1979 to 1994 she worked with children and adults with developmental disabilities at the Peoria Association of Retarded Citizens, Inc. (PARC now EP!C). Danila joined Barbara Walvoord and Donna Evans as a partner/owner at Speech and Language Rehabilitation Service, Ltd. in September 1994.

 

Danila has given presentations and conducted workshops on a variety of subjects related to the field of speech-language pathology at local and state meetings. Danila remains active in the Peoria Speech-Language-Hearing Association (PASHA) having held several offices including president and is currently chair of the Membership and Professional Standards Committee. She received the Honors of the Association from PASHA in 1993 and was the recipient of the Advocate of the Year award from PARC in 1996. She was named a Fellow of the Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association in 2006. Danila served in several capacities with the Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ISHA) including Vice-President for Professional Affairs and President of the association. She continues to serve on association committees.
